Degree Type/Area:  High school degree or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, psychology, sociology, health education or related field is strongly preferred.

Description:  The primary function of this position is to provide administrative support to the placement department which includes ensuring accurate real time information related to capacity and available beds, waiver, alerts and abuse reports; this position will work closely with the licensing department in order to accomplish these responsibilities. This position supports the placement team. Major responsibility includes maintaining open bed lists for foster and group homes. The data specialist is directly responsible for accurate entry of into FSFN and/or other data systems, and processing of confidential information relating to clients behaviors and/or mental health issues.

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Continuous monitoring of FSFN and other systems data integrity of placements, foster homes and safety plans, etc.
  • Input safety plan placement alerts
  • Send various placement survey to all foster homes
  • Track the dispense of clothing vouchers to Foster Homes/Facilities for all initial placement
  • Track providers with children requiring a safety plan
  • Track 30 day request for removal
  • Track 30 day shelter placement
  • Track separated siblings
  • Generate bi weekly reports from tracking systems
  • Track available respite days per current vouchering respite log received monthly
  • Track poorly performing foster homes/group homes
  • Point of contact for Family Services Placement staff for placement errors in FSFN
  • Perform ad hoc performance reporting of FSFN and other system
  • Responsible to collect, sort and verify accuracy of data relating to alerts and allegations on foster homes.
  • Data entry into various data systems

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Proficiency of computer programs such as Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of FSFN
  • Ability to use the Internet for searching and data gathering purposes
  • Ability to type 35 WPM
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Should be able to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Posses a high level of customer service
  • Knowledge of child welfare practices
  • Work well under pressure
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities
